Q. WHAT DOES A TELEPATHIC CONNECTION FEEL LIKE?

A. In a telepathic connection, we feel/know/experience that all living beings are “One”: that we all come from and are of the same spiritual source. The differences we perceive – from person to person or from animal to animal – are only the differences in the way we physically manifest in this world.

In general litter boxes are pretty simple things. But add a cat or two to the mix and things can get a little more complicated. I really do not believe there is any such thing as an accident when a cat is involved. Cats tend to put it where they want it to go. If they don’t like the way the litter box is setup, or the way it smells; they will be sure to let you know. When your cat stops using the litter box, it may be time to go back to basics.

Have enough litter boxes. The general rule is one box per cat, plus one. This means two boxes for one cat, three boxes for two cats, and so on. This is even more important if your home has more then one floor or if you have a cat who tends to guard a box and won’t let other cats use it.

Forget the fancy litter boxes. Box or closed lids, doors and all those other fancy extras can distract or confuse your cats. These devices are really for the humans more then they are for the cats. Most cats only want a quiet, open box to use.

Keep it clean. The best rule of thumb is to clean the litter box every time your cat uses it and add a small amount of fresh litter to cover the older, soiled litter. This will make the box more appealing and helps to disguise odors. It is fine to use scented litter as long as your cat doesn’t mind, but scented types of litter are really for the human and not the cat. If the litter box is dirty, scented litter won’t fool a cat. If you cannot clean the litter box this often, clean it as often as you can. Cats really do like clean litter boxes.

Make the litter box accessible. A cat cannot use a litter box if the door to the room that it is in is closed. Try to find a place for the box that your cat can reach without crawling around under or through anything difficult. If you have to move the box, do so a little bit at a time, no more then a foot a day. Moving a litter box too quickly can confuse and distract you cat and unanticipated messes may occur.

Over the course of time that I have been talking to cats, when a cat stops using their litter box it always signals a message.  First and foremost be sure to check the health of your kitty. Accidents can be a message to let you know they are not feeling well and need to be seen by a Vet. Other reasons that a cat may all of the sudden stop using the litter box is the type of litter has changed and they do not like the new litter or the formula of the litter has changed. Adding a new cat, without adding a new box can also bring about a change in behavior. Understanding what your kitty is trying to tell you can be a bit like finding a needle in a haystack. I would suggest that you start with the most obvious explanations and always look for something that has changed in their environment, their food, their health or their routine.

Most cats and dogs do not have accidents just to irritate you especially when they have a good track record or using the litter box or always going outside. They are only trying to tell you something or deliver a message. They may be confused or upset. So the best thing you can do is remain calm. Clean up the mess and use an odor remover to eliminate the scent. Then take a little time to figure out what’s going on with your animal friend.

Common reasons for animal behavior like this can include changes in their routines, new food or litter, a health issue or stress or concern about one of their favorite people. Animals can notice very subtle changes in their food like a different ingredient even when it is not noted on the bag of food. Sometimes this behavior is due to a urinary tract infection or other health issue. You should seek the help of your Vet in cases where you suspect a health issue. One of the key reasons that animals start leaving puddles where you will notice them is because they are sensing that one of their beloved human companions is stressed about something.

Animals are creatures of habit and like to keep their routines consistent. So if they change their behavior, there is a good chance they are trying to tell you something. Sit down and relax and give yourself some time to understand and receive the underlying message your animal is trying to communicate to you.

Reading your cat’s whiskers is an easy way to tell what mood she’s in, or if she’s going to bite (if her whiskers are pointed forward, look out!)

What the positions of the whiskers mean. If whiskers are:

• Straight out to the side: I’m relaxed.
• Flattened: I’m afraid.
• Fanning and swiveling: I’m curious.
• Spread out and angled forward: Look out!

Just by watching your cat’s whiskers, you can often tell what their next move may be.

The easiest way to assist them is to be aware of your own behavior and the example you are setting for for them. Your calm and loving energy can be reassuring when your animal is going anywhere. If you are worried or concerned about a trip to the vet, the groomer, a competition or any type of outing; then your animal companion will feel it and be concerned too. In any situation that you feel your animal could become anxious; if you can remain calm and relaxed, this energy will transfer to your animal. They take their cues from you, if you are anticipating an issue or a problem, they will know and will become anxious too!.

Always imagine or see the highest and best outcome for everyone involved. It can help to envision your animal friend going to the vet in a relaxed state, seeing them happy when they are receiving attention and enjoying the car ride. If you can envision a smooth and relaxed trip, they will pick up this energy from you and go knowing everything will be just fine.

It is easier to receive confirmation when you are talking with an animal that belongs to someone else. You just simply ask their human for validation or confirmation.

Here are a few tips to help you communicate with you own animal companions.

1) If you feel that your animal is trying to communicate with you, they are. Stop and take some quiet time to listen.
2) Whatever you get, believe that it is from your animal. If you do not accept that the information is from your animal you will begin to second guess yourself.
3) Ask your animal for confirmation if you are not sure what you received or ask them to send the information to you again. Often times, they will send you the information in a different way.
4) Trust, trust and trust. Trust the information you are receiving!
